There are SO MANY BABY PRODUCTS. Seriously. If you think of a product they could create for a baby, it’s out there. It’s so overwhelming.
Some are absolute necessities. Some aren’t necessary but they’re pretty useful. Some are pretty pointless.
There are some products, though, that are a godsend for parents. The ones that help to maintain even just a slither of sanity when everything is a tired, stressy mess. So here are five that have saved my sanity.
Snufflebabe Vapour Oil
Raife is quite a sniffly little chap. He’s quite often got a blocked nose and there’s usually a load of boogers. So. Many. Boogers.
Whether your baby gets grizzly because their airways aren’t completely clear, or you can’t stand the sound of breathing through a blocked nose, Snuffelbabe Vapour Oil is definitely one that will help you out.
£7 might seem a bit pricey, but it really does the trick so it’s more than worth the money. Plus the lemon, pine and tea treeVapour Oil smells lovely!
This one might seem obvious, but we didn’t think of it straight away. People generally don’t buy mini versions of products unless they’re going on holiday.
Our tub of Sudocrem is huge. Trust me, you don’t want to be lugging that around in the changing bag. 1 – it’s heavy. 2 – you won’t be able to fit anything else in!
When we got our little pot and little tube of Sudocrem, they changed our lives. Yes, I am laughing and crying inside at that sentence! This is what my life has become – being happy about a tiny tub of Sudocrem. It’s so light. We can fit other things in the changing bag *Cue Marco Tardelli-style celebration*
Quick tip – if your baby has sensitive skin, Sudocrem Care + Protect works just that little bit better than the ordinary stuff!
Ashton and Parsons Infants’ Powder
Teething is not fun. I repeat. Teething. Is. Not. Fun.
I’m sure what the parents go through doesn’t compare to the pain your baby is feeling. But teething is definitely a time when you’ll lose all sanity. Ashton and Parsons Infants’ Powder, though, is a right sanity-saver!
It’s a herbal powder that provides relief from the symptoms of teething like soreness, red cheeks and excessive dribbling. The relief doesn’t always last a great amount of time, but that respite for you and your baby can save so much stress. It’s herbal nature also removes any reservations or concerns about giving your child pharmaceuticals.
Snufflebabe Nasal Aspirator
As I said, Raife gets so many boogers. Our fingers are usually too big to get them out of his little, tiny nose. So a nasal aspirator – or ‘booger sucker’ as I like to call it – is a must.
This one has come in handy so many times and it really works. You don’t have to put it right in the baby’s nose, just near it, so you don’t have to worry about putting it in too far or anything.
At first, I was concerned about getting a mouth full of boogers. Thankfully, Snufflebabe was way ahead of me and installed a little valve that stops that from happening! Booger-free mouth.
Winner of the sanity-saver baby product prize!
It might seem obvious, but Infacol is an absolute must, particularly in the earlier months. It can be so stressful watching your baby struggle with wind, and a quick squirt of Infacol and a burp later is so blissful! We’ve tried a few different types like ‘Infant Colic Drops’, but Infacol has always worked best for us.
